| This was taken of Dave Wise in early 70's at the "Radio" position in East Lansing Operations.
At the time Dave was Chief Dispatcher. The console was designed by Floyd Casterlien in the EL shop and three were
constructed by the EL shop. The box with buttons just to the right of the microphones was a tone control
that turned on the Houghton Lake, Paw Paw and Detroit 42.58Mhz transmitters along with the EL transmitter for simulcast of State wide messages.
That card he is holding is an example of the message cards that were made out and then filed, all activity on that message was added to the card as it occurred.
No computers at that time just typewriters. Submitted by Dave
