Gene proudly served in the U.S.
Marine Corps during WWII where he received the Purple Heart. He joined MSP from Lowell in 1946 and was stationed at Redford and then Rockford. Was promoted to corporal at Redford in 1956, became a sergeant (post commander) at Alpena in 1965, a S/Sgt at Rockford in 1966. He was promoted to Lt at 4th District (Jackson) in 1968, Captain at Training in 1972, and retired as Captain in 1985 from Operations & Communications after 38 years of service. |
